Islamabad: December 16, 2014. (PCP) Convener World Minorities Alliance and Former Federal Minister J Salik submitted his petition in Supreme Court of Pakistan on Non-implementation of Supreme Court order regarding Minority Rights.
The following points are highlighted in the petition.
1: We made Pakistan on the name of violation of minority rights as Hindus were majority and Muslims were living there as minority at that time and they were unable to get their rights. Christians played a great role and recorded their statement in boundary commission that the number of Christians should be added in the favor of Pakistan so that Pakistan will be able to get its advantage even the resolution passed in Punjab Assembly was with decision votes of Christians but the minorities are facing the discrimination constantly . Malaysia is the only Muslim Country who uses to celebrate Six National Days for all the six nations livings there (Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Buddhist, Taoists and Sikhs). That’s why Malaysia is being considered among the developed countries of the world but unfortunately in Pakistan minorities are being acknowledged only but if we will talk about their rights, they don’t have their National Day and have not even a single holiday in this regard even on Christmas or Easter Day. The Christmas Day is attached with Quaid-e-Azam Day, which is God forbid a sort of contempt, so the 26 December should be the day for Christians and in the same way the other nations in the country should be acknowledged as well.
2: The condition of minorities could be much better if the government could made commission on the resignation letter of First Law Minister of the country Jogider Nath Mundel, in 1950 and the problems of minorities could be resolved at that time, its not very late, we can reform our mistake by making the same commission on Joginder Nath Mundel’s resignation.
3: After the brutal death of Christian Couple in Kot Radha Kission, Chak Kalarakabad, the management buried the couple at the mid of same night even without waiting for their other body parts. The government of Punjab announced the 10 acre land for the effected family, the 940 acre land which is already the ownership of Church and was snatched by the Ayub Marshal Law in 1958 and now it’s illegally confined by Punjab Government, the CM Punjab announced the 10 acres from the same land and violated the law as he has no right on that land. The CM Punjab should give his own land if he is very much interested to give land to someone and nobody has right on the land of Church. Chief Minister should give explanation.
4: Minority Ministry is dissolved under eighteenth amendment in the constitution and in this respect the trivial fund of five crore is snatched as well after 36years. It’s now under provinces and the representation of minorities is vanished from Federal.
5: The major most cruelty with minorities is that their election doesn’t exist and minorities have no right to choose their representatives. The people sitting in air conditioned environment can’t be the representatives of minorities because they are representing their political parties only as they came with violation of Article 226 of Constitution of Pakistan and they have no interest and no concern with the hassles of minorities or poor.
6: The life of a sanitary workers is worst than a street dog even, as sanitation department is privatized by giving it to a Turkish waste management company on contract, if the government is not even capable to manage the sanitation system of the country, how is it possible for them to manage the whole country.
