CCA leads candle vigil for martyrs of Peshawar School massacre
Toronto, Canada: December 21, 2014. (PCP) A Vigil was arranged on Dec. 20, by Canadian Christian Association, and supported by ICV, Red Shawl, and several other churches and organizations, to commemorate the over 140 school children and staff members, killed in an army public school, in Peshawar Pakistan, by the terrorist.
The Canadian community of Pakistani Christians is deeply shocked, and disturbed by this heinous act, which has taken the lives of so many innocent children. The community is also praying for the victim’s families, and peace and stability in Pakistan on an on-going basis.
Mr. John Gill, president CCA, Mr. Peter Bhatti, president ICV, Dr. Zari Gill, President Red Shawl and Prof. Obaid Chaudry, Chair UTCC and past president CCA, expressed their thoughts during the vigil. In addition, special prayers were offered by Pastor Robin Wasti and Mrs. Romila Mallo.
Hon. Brad Butt, Member of Parliament for Mississauga-Streetsville also expressed his thoughts and condolences. He also assured that the Canadian Government is very concerned regarding this incidence
