Canada: March 3, 2015. (PCP) Today, March 2, 2015, marks the fourth death anniversary of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti. On this day we remember the man who became an international hero for religious minorities around the world and the man who lost his life fighting for the rights of religious minorities. His assassination is a prime example of rising religious intolerance and it is our duty to carry forward his legacy. Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti spent his life serving his people till his last breath. His achievements, principles, and legacy are an honour for our community. He is the first Pakistani Christian to be recognized and honoured internationally as a human rights defender. This year we will commemorate his death anniversary in Ottawa at Parliament Hill with the Religious Freedom Office of Canada on March 11, 2015. There will be many Canadian and international dignitaries, human rights activists, and leaders from many different organizations and countries that will be attending. Please join us in receiving the honour Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti brings to our community and to unite as a human force against injustice.
