PCC condemn attack on Christian Journalist in Islamabad

Karachi: April 3, 2015. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC has strongly condemned attack of Christian journalist Shamim Masih in Islamabad and expressed grave concern on not registration of First Information Report FIR by Police Station I-9 of Islamabad where Shamim Masih submitted written application. In a press note issued by Central Secretariat of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC, states that on March 29, 2015, when Shamim Masih was on visit of one Christian residential, two unknown people on motorbike stooped him and threatened him to stop writing on issues of Christian persecution; Before any answer was given by Shamim Masih, the motorbike riders get down from their bike and started beating Shamim Masih; The attackers broke his arm and warned him that if he not stopped reporting on Christian issue, they know his family and home and will teach him and his family a lesson. Shamim Masih writes on Christian persecution in Pakistan along with his journalistic duties with a national newspaper and TV Channel; Nazir Bhatti said “If such attack or threats were given a Muslim journalist then police have on heels to investigate incident and to arrest attackers but as Shamim Masih is a Christian journalist that’s why police and administration is not paying any attention or interested to investigate this incident” Dr. Nazir have demanded immediate registration of FIR of attack on Christian journalist and to provide him security.
