HYDERABAD: June 7, 2015. (By Abbas Kassar) Journalist Ramzan Brohi of Husri district Hyderbad who was arrested by Husri police on May 24, 2015 was still missing and his friends and relatives have not been told his whereabouts after arrest and forcibly disappeared.Hyderabad Union of Journalists (Dastoor) had already held protest demonstration outside press club Hyderabad for disclosure of his arrest and release but so far Hyderabad police has turned their ear on the issue. His relatives Brohi community held press conference on Sunday at press club during which they told that they had filed a petition in Sindh High Court Hyderabad circuit bench where police SHOs told court that Ramzan Brohi was not with them. However court issued orders to file FIR of disappearance of journalist Ramzan Brohi against Husri police but SSP Hyderabad and SDP Husri have refused to follow court orders. Ghulam Nabi Brohi, Haji Abdullah Brohi and others told that police was threatening them to withdraw petition or face consequences.They expressed apprehension that either Ramzan Brohi was in private custody or police has killed him. They said that SHC has issued orders to SSP to appear in court in person on 16 June and hoped that he would brief the court on whereabouts of journalist Ramzan Brohi. They made appeal to chief justice,prime minister, human rights bodies to help recover missing journalist. They also warned to take out protest rally on June 9 from Husri to DIG Hyderabad office and if he was not produced in court on 16 June they would stage dharna in front of SHC Karachi on 18 June.
