16 Lawmakers Take Part in NA Budget Debate

ISLAMABAD, June 10, 2015: The National Assembly continued debate on the Federal Budget 2015-16 on Wednesday, as sixteen lawmakers spoke on it for 248 minutes, reports Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) in its Daily Factsheet. Tabled by Minister for Defence Production, the House passed a resolution to condemn the massacre of Muslims in Burma. The Prime Minister attended the sitting for 32 minutes while the Leader of the Opposition was present for 131 minutes. Despite the passage of a motion during the second sitting for not allowing points of order (POs) during the budget session, 34 POs were raised consuming 100 minutes of the proceedings time. The Speaker suspended the proceedings for seven minutes after exchange of harsh words between PTI Deputy Parliamentary leader and PML-N lawmaker.
