HYDERABAD: June 27, 2015. (Abbas Kassar) The violence against minority Kolhi community continues under Wadera Raj in Sindh and there was no let up as landlords continue to target their families. A peasant Munoo Bheel has served longest hunger strike in Pakistan since 2003 when his family of 9 was kidnapped allegedly in 1998 by landlord of Jhol in Sanghar district Abdul Rehman Mari which is still missing. Muno Bheel who is observing hunger strike in front of press club Hyderabad said that landlord has so far killed his 5 family members. He made appeal to SSP Sanghar to file report of murder of his family members and arrest landlord Abdul Rehman Mari.
Meanwhile a woman Lali Kolhi has held protest demonstration in front of press club here against landlord of Khipro Tawakal Ali Rajar adding that landlord kidnapped her 20 years ago and kept her in confinement. She alleged that landlord continued to rape her for last 20 years during which time she gave birth to one son and 2 daughter out of this landlord. She said she got a change to run away from his bungalow and reached Hyderabad where she held protest demonstration. She demanded justice and punishment to landlord for kidnapping and raping her for 20 years.
It may be mentioned here that violence against minorities Hindus by landlords in Sindh is common as they engage people form Kolhi and Bheel communities as peasants to work on their farms as bonded labour and never allow them to leave their lands.Their families are kept under 24 hour check so no one can escape out of his bondage. The landlords and their cronies are often alleged to rape the women of bonded labour which are Kolhi and Bheel. Being vulnerable in Sinhi society no one is to help them. Even is any NGO brings case of their plight to courts which orders their release from private jail of landlord but never once in history has punished the landlord for keeping families in bondage and raping their women.
