CCA held 5th Annual Canada Day Basketball tournament

Toronto: July 8, 2015. (PCP) Canadian Christian Association (CCA), held its 5th Annual Youth Canada Day Basketball Tournament in Oakville, Ont., on July 4, 2015. The program was started with the opening remarks by Prof. Obaid Chaudry, CPA, CMA, CA, (past president CCA) about the tournament, followed by the opening prayer by Mrs. Josephine Chaudry. The special guests included the followings: Hon. Wladyslaw Lizon – Member of Parliament for Mississauga East—Cooksville and Hon. Eng. Shazad Elahi – Former MPA Punjab. Mr. John Gill, MBA, and president CCA, welcomed all the teams and the guests. In addition, he emphasized the opportunity to network and to have fun. Mr. Sohail Pervaiz, secretary of CCA, also shared his thoughts and encouraged the teams. All the teams were well prepared, which led to very exciting matches. There were five teams namely: Evangelical Asian Church (EAC) team A and Team B, Humberlea Worship Centre, North Burlington Church, and Pehelwan Stars. EAC won the tournament after a very exciting final where lead changed several times. Eng. Shazad Elahi presented the trophy to EAC, Mr. Shahbaz Sindhu to Humberlea Worship Centre, Mr. Waseem Iqbal, Mr. Khalid Gill, and Mrs. Shama Haroon to the other teams. Young promising stars trophies were presented by Shaguta Chaudry, and Pinky Dilawar. Dr. David Charles presented the most valuable trophy. CCA thanks all volunteers who helped with the tournament and made it a mega success.
