New Delhi/Srinagar: July 11, 2015. (PCP) Iftaar parties in Srinagar, Jammu and Delhi which were being hosted by Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party & Convenor of Intra J&K âHeart to Heartâ Talks have been cancelled due to tragic demise of Sardar Mohd. Abdul Qayyum Khan, Chairman of the Intra J&K âHeart to Heartâ Talks yesterday in Islamabad whose Namaz-e-Janaza was held today at Ghaziabad.
Prof.Bhim Singh had proposed to hold Iftaar in Jammu on 12th July, in Srinagar on 13th July & on 15th July in New Delhi. After consultation with senior colleagues and friends it has been decided to cancel Iftaar parties.
National Panthers Party had held condolence meeting yesterday in Srinagar, Jammu and New Delhi expressing deep shock on the demise of one of the tallest leaders of J&K whose death has created a vaccum in the political history of J&K and a great damage to the peace initiative undertaken by the Intra J&K âHeart to Heartâ Talks.
Prof.Bhim Singh, Founder of J&K National Panthers Party, Convenor of Intra J&K ‘Heart to Heart’ Talks which was chaired by Sardar Mohd. Abdul Qayyum Khan has described Sardar’s death as a great loss to the peace initiative taken up by a Coordination Committee of J&K Leaders and Intellectuals to assist India and Pakistan in this regard.
Meanwhile, The NPP Supremo reacting on high profile meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief in Russia yesterday said that the Modi government has been exposed of its double standards. Mr. Modi was shouting loud at the top of his voice against holding any dialogue with Pakistan Prime Minister for its failure to fulfill several conditions proposed by Prime Minister Modi. India has couple of weeks back accused Pakistan for holding Assembly election in Gilgit-Baltistan. During their meetings in a Russian City outside the BRICS conference yesterday Prime Minister Modi failed to take up the most important issues relating to the illegal occupation of India’s territory by Pakistan, particularly Gilgit-Baltistan. Gilgit-Baltistan was occupied by Pak-army in 1948 after the ceasefire ordered by the Security Council of the United Nations on 1st January, 1948. Pakistan swallowed Chitral (one of Gilgit’s Districts in J&K) India failed to protest against that illegal occupation of Chitral. In 2009, Pakistan annexed entire territory of Gilgit-Baltistan measuring about 28,000 sq. miles of our territory. Pakistan leased out nearly 5000 sq. miles of J&K (India) territory in 1963 to China where Chinese have raised/constructed defence structures and 60 Army helipads for Chinese Armywith the approval of Pakistan. This is pertinent to mention that ceding of J&K (India) territory by Pakistan to China.
NPP Supremo pointed out and praised Sardar Mohd. Abdul Qayyum Khan for loding a protest to the Govt. of Pakistan in 1963 for parting with J&K territory to China without the consent or approval of the Govt. of POK. Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan had strongly protested the Govt. of Pakistan for keeping Gilgit-Baltistan outside the ‘Azad Kashmir’ and wrote strong protest letters to the Govt. of Pakistan with the result that he earned wrath of Prime Minister Bhutto and even had to suffer in jails.
Prof.Bhim Singh criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for having failed to take up this issue with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief. This act of Pakistan of 1963 and 2009 was highly violative of the UN Security Council’s resolutions about which Pakistan has been harping everyday on the international fora and inside Pakistan only to exploit the people of Pakistan. Prof.Bhim Singh said that Prime Minister Modi should have taken this issue with Pakistan respectfully and politely which have been strongly emphasized by the Parliament Resolution in 1994 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narasimha Rao.
Prime Minister Modi shall have to answer these questions to the people of India about his silence on the Pak occupation of J&K territory and illegal annexation of Gilgit-Baltistan as its 6th province.
