FAISALABAD: July 28, 2015. (PCP) Ilyas Masih wanted to migrate from his village to Faisalabad after his two minor daughters were gangrapped by Muslim men in their village last year. The trial of the case is pending in the court of Mr. Arshad Javed Additional and Session Judge, Jaranwala. He is not safe in his village due to constant life threats from the alleged rapists. He decided to move from his village and will reside in some safe place. He talked with Sardar Mushtaq Gill, Human Rights Defender who is counsel in this gang rapped case and mentioned about his apprehensions. He went to Faisalabad and contacted with a Muslim letting agent, the agent took advance rent and Pagri including his own commission and told him to bring his luggage to settle in new home. He visited the home and agreed to take it on rents after making rent deed. Next day when he came along with his luggage and children, the agent told and flatly refused to give the home to a Christian, he said in surrounding all are Muslim's homes and refused to let him home on rent. Discrimination on religion based is a major problem which Christians have to face in Pakistan. Christian children is school and Christian community in public and private sectors face discrimination and there is no any proper laws which can redress this major issue. We need to make awareness among Majority to accept minority without discrimination if we wish to see a prosperous Pakistan.
