Islamabad: November 27, 2015. (PCP) Convener World Minorities Alliance Mr. J Salik addressed an important Press Conference to demand the solution of four major problems faced by minorities before Local Bodies Elections. Press conference was held at National Press Club Islamabad. Mr. J Salik was sitting on floor along with Leaders of PMLN, candidates for Chairmen and Deputy Chairmen, Clock and Flag of Pakistan. The purpose of Clock was to memorize the time to government leaders; the purpose of National Flag was to show the importance of flag and to show that we all are same under Pakistani Flag, when sitting on floor was a symbol of humbleness and modesty. Press Conference was started with prayers. On the occasion J Salik said that we are facing four major problems, we demand the solution of our problems from government group before local bodies elections. He said that the case of minorities’ right to elect their representatives was in Supreme Court for last 13 years and now on 5th August, 2015 the decision of Supreme Court of Pakistan was in the favor of minorities, we demand that decision should be implemented in Parliament of Pakistan. He said that the Pakistanis residing in slums don’t have basic facilities when they are residing in capital city of Pakistan. The slums should not only have access on basic facilities but the development process in the slums should be started on priority basis and illegal slums should be legalized. He said that the rights of sanitary workers are disfavored with privatization of sanitary workers in Punjab; no other department of CDA is privatized but only the sanitation department. Our third demand is to restore the rights of sanitary workers. He said that the sayings of founder Pakistan Quaid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah is that minorities are sacred trust of Pakistan but Federal Minority Ministry was vanished with 18th amendment and minorities came under provinces’ control, which not only against the quote of Quaid e Azam but representation of minorities was completely vanished from Federal. Federal Minority Ministry should be restored to restore the minority’s representation and status in Federal. He took oath from all the candidates for chairmen and deputy chairmen that they will be with J Salik in the protests against government in the case of non implementation on minorities’ demands, all of them raised their hands and promised to follow him. On the occasion former senator Syed Zafar Ali Shah accepted all the demands of minorities on behalf of PMLN and promised to implement on each and every thing demanded by J Salik. He said that we are the decision of Supreme Court of Pakistan and if there will be any obstacle in implementation of that decision; we will provide free legal assistance. I assure complete rights of every sanitary who not only worked for minority rights but for human rights as well. While talking about Prime Minister’s love for minorities he said that on dewali festival he asked to throw color on him as demands but after hearing about the Prime minister’s love for minorities we want to demand one more thing , we also read the statement of Federal Minister for information in which he promised to build temples for Sikh and Hindu community in Islamabad, we just want you to release the Ram Kundh Munder of Hindu community and vanish the presence of Dais Perdais Hotel and CDA’s Office from the temple. If Prime Minister will order to release the temple, minorities will cast their votes to Chairmen and Deputy Chairmen of PMLN. He said that it should be remember that if we can cast our votes to make someone successful we can also protest against him for our rights to disseat him. PMLN Leader Anjum Aqeel said that PMLN will never disappoint minorities.
