Karachi: December 24, 2015. (PCP) The Central Secretariat of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC in a press note have demanded Interior Ministry of Pakistan to deploy armed forces during mid-night services of Christmas in Islamabad and cities of four provinces along with contingents of police. After threats to Christians in Essa Nagri of Karachi and Youhanabad in Lahore which are most populated Christian neighborhoods in both cities, it is feared that any Church or Christian worshipers can be easy prey of militants in any town or city of Pakistan. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC said in a statement issued here today that if armed forces can be deployed on demand of political parties to conduct and supervise election process then safety of Christian worshipers is more important and if any incident occurs then Ch. Nisar Ali, Interior Minister for government of Pakistan will stand responsible. Nazir Bhatti appealed Christian to observe Christmas with very simple celebration and special prayers may be offered for Asia Bibi and other victims of blasphemy law who are in different jails of Pakistan. It is time that we remember in our prayers all Christians who have been jailed from Youhanabad Lahore and facing torture. “We must not forget thousands of Christian families who have fled from Pakistan after persecution and taken refuge in other countries for safety of life” said Nazir Bhatti
