Interfaith Prayer Service for recovery and long life of Prime Minister of Pakistan

Lahore: June 8, 2016. (Pervez Yousaf) Council for Interfaith Dialogue Pakistan (CFID) organized an interfaith prayer service for the early recovery and long life of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. This prayer service was represented by scholars of different religions while Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap, coordinator of CFID was the chief organizer of this national event. Men, women, youth and children belonging to different religions were present in this interfaith prayer service and offered prayers for the early recovery and long life of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, according to their creeds. These prayers were led by the leaders of the Council for the Interfaith Dialogue. The participants also recited prayer for the development as well as prosperity of the country and success of Pak Armed forces in the operation against terrorists. On behalf of the family of the prime minister, his maternal cousin Mr. Arif Hameed But was also present in this interfaith prayer service and thanked CFID for arranging this event. Talking two participants he said, “Jesus Christ raised the deads, while all of us prayed for a live person, it means that prayers are answered. The operation of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was successful and now he is recovering and getting well rapidly.” He also thanked all the participants for their precious time and gathered to pray for the prime minister. The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Prof. Farooq Ahmed Saeedi, recitation of the Holy Gospel by Fr. Qaisar Feroz OFM Cap and recitation of the Bhagwat Geeta by Pandit Bhagat Lal Khokhar followed by welcome and introduction of the programme by Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap. Earlier, all the participants sang national anthem of Pakistan. On this occasion participants also appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister for the development of country and expressed their wish that after recovery he will return to Pakistan very soon and continue his services with the same enthusiasm. Pir Shafaat Rasool, Mufti Syed Ashiq Hussain, Edward Qaisar, Fr. Pascal Paulus, Pervez Yousaf, Allama Mushtaq Hussain Jafri, Allama Asghar Arif Chishti, Fr. Adnan Kashif OFM Cap, Shabnam Nagi (advocate), Prof. Farooq Ahmed Saeedi, Muhammad Shahbaz Mian, Nasir Ghani, Bhagat Lal Khokhar, Pir S.A. Jafri, Jassi Singh, , Fr. Qaisar Feroz OFM Cap, Sunil John, Saima Rafique and Br. Masam were prominent among the participants on this occasion. It is notable that MPA Punjab Zulfiqar Ghouri along with Adil Ghauri a social leader also participated in the prayer service.
