Islamabad: June 29, 2016. (PCP) Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council and Member National Assembly Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani has expressed great concern over the news published in foreign media according to which the design of Hindu-insulting shoes are being imported from China. Dr Ramesh Kumar while commenting on a recent BBC report said that the disputed shoe maker factory owner Sheikh Naeem has provided the misleading information to involve China in this crime. “According to report, it’s not clear that the pious Hindu word “OM” was exclusively designed for which product,” he said. He demanded strict punishment against the culprits not only under the Blasphemy laws but also fraud case could be registered. He appreciated the timely explanatory statement from famous Brand “Stylo” and emphasized that it is not appropriate to put blame of the whole incident on the brand. He said that fraudulent people tried to create anarchy in society for their own vested interests. Keeping in view Pak-China bilateral relations, he expressed that immediate action should be taken against the real accused ones, and otherwise, Pakistan Hindu Council keeps all rights to take this matter into legal courts, and in this regard, collaboration with the “Stylo” management is also under consideration.
