Anjum Naz and 2 more get death in blasphemy, extortion case

Lahore: June 29, 2016. (Qaisar Loudhi) On 28 june 2016 in District Gujranwala-The Anti-Terrorism Court No-2 sentenced three accused to death in blasphemy-cum- extortion case. According to FIR which is lodged in Police Station Satellite Town on May 15, 2015, that accused Anjum Naz made derogatory remarks in against the Holy Prophet during a speech at a school. His friends - Javed Naz and Jafer Ali, they recorded the remarks Anjum Naz. Later Jafer Ali started extorting money from Anjum Naz, threatening him that he will leak his speech in public. Seeing the increase in the demand for money of Jafer, Anjum informed to the Police Station Satellite Town and apprised the police of the matter. At which the police registered a case against all the three friends under blasphemy and extortion sections. Upon completion the hearing and testifying evidence and all statements of the accused and witnesses, Judge Bushra Zaman awarded death sentence to three accused verdict on the case.
