The attack on Christians in India has not come down even after Congress led Government has come in Centre. Everyday, we have been informed about the attacks from every corner of India. Most of the attacks are from Sangh Parivar, mostly in BJP rule states. Imposing anti conversion bill is one of the attempts of BJP rule governments, which is totally against fundamental rights, Indian Constitution and Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Therefore, time has come for united afford to fight against some of these evil forces. Freedom of religion and choice of faith is God given rights which Sangh Parivar and its political wing – BJP tries to take away from every Indian citizen. In order to protect this very fundamental rights and fight against the Hindutva forces who have passed anti conversion bills in the state of Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu (repealed), World Religious Freedom Day is organized at Nagpur on October 14, 2006 by All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations in partnership with All India Christian Council. It is also to celebrate 50th Anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar who left Hinduism and converted to Buddhism in search of liberation from caste. Lakhs of Dalits from all over India and Human rights activists from across India, US, UK and European Countries will be joining this occasion to mark "World Religious Freedom Day" by burning the un-constitutional anti conversion bills at the closing day of the celebration. It has also been reported that thousands of Indian Dalits will be leaving Hinduism to convert to any other religious that do not preach and practice caste. All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations is the national body of SC/ST organizations, unions and associations under the leadership of Dr. Udit Raj who has been campaigning for Dalit reservation in Government and private sectors. Therefore, I on behalf of national body of All India Christian Council and All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations would like to request you and your congregation to support this very important move to defend and protect our fundamental rights to choose the faith and religious and uphold the event is your prayers.
