Christian lawyer demands security for family of jailed leader

Karachi: January 17, 2017. (PCP) Christian Lawyer and Human Rights Activist Miss Jacquline Sultan said that Mr. Aslam Pervaiz Sahotra of Masiha Millat Party and Human Liberation Commission is under custody and some criminals are demanding extortion money from his family and threatening them to kill if they failed to do so. She said one of the Christian leader Mr. Aftab Gill is helping and supporting the family of Mr. Aslam Pervaiz Sahotra but culprits have been threatening to him to stop his support in this regard he has also lodged his complain in concerned police station regarding threatening calls and demanding of extortion money. She said police do not pay any head to the minority community complain. She expressed her concerned over threatening calls to Aslam Pervaiz While talking to delegation she expressed her concerns over human rights situation in Pakistan particularly over the violations of child rights and minorities’ rights. Mr. Aftab Gill reported threat call to relevant police station but no action was taken by police for security of family of Mr. Sahotra. On December 30, 2016, Mr. Aftab Gill again received threatening call in which culprits demanded millions of rupees within a week time unless threated to kill family members of Mr. Aslam’s family. She appealed Chief Minister Punjab and Police authorities to provide immediate and adequate security to Aslam Pervaiz family until the culprits may not arrested and strict action against culprits.
