Convener World Minorities Alliance and Organizer Awami Maseeha Party Mr. J Salik met Mahmood Khan Achakzai leader Pakhtunkhwa Mili Awami Party at his residence at parliament lodges. During meeting J Salik told that the electoral reforms made by government are negating the democracy in Pakistan because government did not make any change in the method of minorities’ election, which is a major maltreatment with minorities. He told that the verdict of the Supreme Court of Pakistan has come, more than one and half year ago on the case regarding minorities election system and the apex court advised parliament in its decision of 5th August, 2015 that stop considering minorities as second class citizens and change their method of election, but no improvement in this regard is made by parliament yet. He further told that necessary reforms in the electoral system before the elections are very important so that minorities can choose their representatives because it’s the violation of the article 226 of the constitution as well. Mahmood Khan Achakzai assured his support for the grievances of minorities and said that it’s really a great injustice with minorities and I will raise this issue in parliament. He said that he will try to support minorities in all possible ways for their grievances in their electoral system before elections.
