Adventist teacher target of hate on religion in Pakistan

Pakpattan: February 24, 2017. (PCP) Mrs. Mary Ashma Javed , a Christian teacher has been working as EST in Government Girls Elementary school Chak no 15/sp Pakpattan having MA, B Ed qualifications since 2007. On February 4-5, 2017, head mistress Shehla Afzal was not in school and she had handed over the charge of the school to Miss Mary Ashma a Christian teacher. Miss Farzana Niaz, Miss Faseeha Asad and other Muslim teachers of said school did not bear a Christian teacher as head mistress of the school and abused to Miss Mary and her religion Christianity. On 14/2/2017 Miss Shehla Afzal was informed regarding misbehavior attitude of Farzana Niaz and other teachers and head mistress called all teachers in her school office regarding misbehavior attitude of Farzana niaz etc with Mary Ashma teacher. In presence of head mistress and other teachers’ farzana Niaz and Fasiha Asad teachers again targeted Miss Mary Ashma and her religion. They said “She is non-Muslim and non-Muslims are Satan, Satan and Satan” " Fasiha Asad also said "let us kick this Christian teacher from the school because we are all Muslim teachers and she is Christian Satan teacher” Head mistress forbade them to insulting Miss Mary and her religion. District education officer female Pakpattan and Hina Ch. Deputy district education officer female Pakpattan were also informed by Javed Sahotra advocate regarding this religion insulting incident and demanding justice. Anger and fear spread among local Christian community on this hate incident on religion grounds and prayers were offered for safety of Christians in Pakistan.
