Anniversary of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti marked in his native village in Pakistan

Faisalabad: March 5, 2017 (PCP) The death anniversary of Martyr Shanbaz Bhatti was observed in his native village Khushpur in Faisalabad district in Punjab province of Pakistan by All Pakistan Minorities Alliance leaders, workers and his relatives with showering flowers on his grave and memorial service in local Church on March 2, 2017. Shahbaz Bhatti was assassinated by Muslim religious extremists outfit in capital city of Pakistan Islamabad on March 2, 2011, when he was heading toward his office to perform his duties as Federal Minister for Minorities Affair of government of Pakistan. Shahbaz Bhatti was chief of All Pakistan Minorities Alliance APMA when he was selected as Member of National Assembly of Pakistan by ruling Pakistan Peoples Party PPP and late appointed as Federal Minister of Minorities Affairs Ministry. He was instrumental force with collaboration of Catholic Church of Pakistan to oppose Separate Electorate system in which Christian voters were electing their parliamentarian and demanded Joint Electorate system in which Muslim parties bag Christian votes and select parliamentarian of their choice in a meeting with military dictator Pervez Musharraf. The anniversary of Shahbaz Bhatti was only observed in his native village only while not any significant gathering took place to pay him homage. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC paid tributes to Martyr Shahbaz and urged Christians not to forget his sacrifice.
