Olive Peace Trees Planted at Sikh Temple Gurdwara Dera Sahib

Lahore: May 9, 2017. (sunil John) In connection with the Olive Peace Tree Plantation campaign, a delegation of different religions in the leadership of Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap, Executive Secretary National Commission for Interreligious Dialogue and Ecumenism (Catholic Bishops Conference-Pakistan) visited a historical Sikh Temple Dera Sahib, Gurdwara in the neighborhood Lahore Fort. The Delegation; consisted upon Mr. Anjum Daara (Director Lahore Fort) Mr. Malik Tahir Yazdani (Director Lahore Heritage Club), Br. Deacon Nazir John, Sunil John, Samson Paul, Mufti Ashiq Hussain, Allama Dr. Badar Munir, Qari Muhammad Shakil, and Qari Ahmad Siddiqui. Olive Trees were planted in the elevation of the Temple. Fr. Francis Nadeem assisted by the delegation planted the tree and expressed his desire that as this tree grows day by day, peace and harmony may flourish in the same way. The preacher of the Temple Giani Sardar Manjit Singh welcomed and thanked all the guests and assured that they will take a good care of this trees forever. Mr. Rajesh Kumar ( a Hindu leader) was also present, he too expressed his happiness. This activity was organized by National Commission for Interreligious Dialogue and Ecumenism (Catholic Bishops’ Conference- Pakistan) in association with Council for Interfaith Dialogue Pakistan.
