Olive Peace Trees Plantation in front of Badshahi Mosque Lahore

Lahore: May 30, 2017. (PCP) His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw (Chairman National Commission for Interreligious Dialogue and Ecumenism), Fr. Francis Nadeem, the Executive Secretary of NCIDE, Moulana Abdul Khabeer Azad (Grand Imam of the Badshai Mosque) , Mr. Anjum J. Dara, (Archeologist/Curator Lahore Fort), Allama Asim Makhdoom, Fr. Jahanzeb, Fr. Shakeel Luka, Sardar Kalyan Singh, Sardar Ranjeet Singh and a delegation from Germany planted olive trees in front of the historical Badshahi Mosque of Lahore, in connection with the Olive Peace Trees Plantation Campaign. It is a historical event to plant a tree which symbolizes peace and prosperity at the place of great historical significance and importance. On this occasion, the Archbishop in his views expressed great happiness and desire that as the faithful would pass across this Peace Tree to offer prayers in the Mosque, they would remind themselves to be instruments of spreading peace. Moulana Abdul Khabeer Azad appreciated the Olive Peace Trees campaign started by NCIDE and hope that peace and harmony may flourish in all over Pakistan. The delegation from Germany also cited the initiative of NCIDE and mentioned that such positive activities have a great impact on the society in the promotion of Peace. Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap thanked all the participants and expressed his wish that as we all get together at one place, in the same way, Peace may prevail.
