Lahore: February 19, 2007. Lahore High Court acquitted six Christian prisoners from the case under charge of murder, on 16th Feb 07. Poor prisoners awaited 10 years for justice. Six Christian men named Akram son of Ilyas, Sooba son of Sadiq Masih, Rakha son of Barkat, Samuel son of Sadiq, Jan son of Hassan and Nazar son of Ramzan are relatives to each other. They all were implicated into a murder case registered vide First Information Report No. 608 dated 3rd of December 1997, offence under section 302/395 PPC with police station Ferozewala District Sheikhupura. The session judge concluded the case and condemned Rakha son Barkat to death while rest of the accused persons were convicted to life imprisonment. Rakha son of Barkat was detained in District Jail Sheikhupura, Samuel son of Sadiq and Akram son of Ilyas were detained in Central Jail Lahore while Nazar son of Ramzan, Sooba son of Sadiq and Jan son Hassan were detained in Central Jail Faisalabad
