Naveed Walter president HRFP participated in funeral cermony of Asma Jahangir

Lahore: February 13, 2018. (PCP) Naveed Walter president Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) participated in the funeral of courageous human Human Rights defender Asma Jahangir in Lahore. Naveed Walter met with Asma's family particularly to her sister Hina Jillani , colleagues and shared the condolence remarks. Naveed Walter said that sudden death of Asma Jahangir is a big loss for the marginalized communities specially for women, children and minorities. He said Asma Jahangir challenged to dictatorships and injustices and tirelessly struggled for the protection and promotion of democracy, human rights and equality. Naveed Walter said further Asma Jahangir as symbol of peace was a representative of Pakistan all over the world and was true ambassador of Human Rights. Even she has been facing several death threats and attacks but she never stepped back. For multiple times she was offered by government for the high rank posts but she refused always. She was a great lawmaker and her iconic ideas were impacting opponents. Asma Jahangir empowered the struggle for the rights of women, children and minorities. Naveed Walter said further that the candle lit by Asma Jahangir will always flourish light for Human Rights and we will always keep this good work up ; he add more.
