Faisalabad: Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) expresses deep concern and strong condemnation over the case of Maria Shahbaz, a 13-year-old Christi
HYDERABAD: April 17, 2018. (By Abbas Kassar) Leaders of Bheel Intellectual Forum Pakistan advocate Bhagchad, Pardeep Kumar and Sodharam have criticized the procedure of selection on minority seats of Assemblies instead of election.
Addressing news conference here they said the political parties nominate traders and industrialists out of minorities for assemblies’ seats who can pay big amount to political parties leaders for nomination. They said those selected on minority seats form only 5% of minorities while 95% are neglected.
These rich Hindu traders happen to be no representatives of minorities in Pakistan. They said Bheel, Kolhi, Meghwar and others have big vote bank in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sanghar and Tando Allahyar districts but no one was there to raise voice against atrocities with them. They said they want real representation of minorities in federal parliament and provincial assemblies.
They also rejected statement of MNA Ramesh Kumar Wankwani that Pakistan Hindu Council was with minority Hindu community in Pakistan. They demanded representation be given to minorities in Pakistan through election and not selection.
