Pakistan heading towards economic sanctions after US places on Blacklist on Religious Freedom

Washington DC: December 11, 2018. (PCP) After continuous demand of religious minorities in Islamic of Pakistan for religious freedom on national and International forums, US announced today to blacklist it from keeping on watchlist for years. When US Commission on International Religious Freedom USCIRF placed Islamic Republic of Pakistan on watchlist as religious freedom norms violator country, it never legislated to improve issues of religious freedom but incidents of attacks on worship places of minorities, kidnapping of minorities communities' women and forcibly converting them to Islam and killing of minority individuals increased and Muslim culprits were never punished. On rising violence against Christians, Hindus, Ahmadi and others, USA placed Islamic Republic of Pakistan on blacklist today. According to AFP, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said he had designated Pakistan among "countries of particular concern" in a congressionally mandated annual report, meaning the US government is obliged to exert pressure to end freedom violations. Mr Pompeo a year earlier had placed Pakistan on a special watch list -- a step short of the designation -- in what had been seen as a US tactic to press Islamabad into reforms. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress in a statement commenting on placing Islamic Republic of Pakistan on blacklist on religious freedom have welcomed US decision and congratulated President Trump administration on action against continuous violator of religious freedom and human rights. Dr. Bhatti urged EU, UK, Australia and other countries to press upon Islamic Republic of Pakistan to improve human rights and religious freedom situation. "Thousands of Christian and Hindus have fled from Islamic Republic of Pakistan for safety and security of their life to South and South East Asian countries and facing miserable conditions as refugees who need special attention of western countries after confirming US that religious liberty and justice is under grave danger in this Islamic state" added Nazir Bhatti The establishment and administration of Islamic Republic of Pakistan have stepped further to end freedom of religion and expression that banned only website of minorities "Pakistan Christian Post" in July 2018 which was widely covering incident of persecution and religious freedom to end this powerful voice. Like Pakistan Christian Post the government of Islamic Republic of Pakistan had already banned website of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC that minorities may not demand any due basic rights and voice for it. Dr. Nazir Bhatti said that he will demand US and other countries to impose economic sanctions on Islamic Republic of Pakistan if adequate measures are not adopted to protect religious freedom. According to AP news agency, other countries on the blacklist, which calls out nations for "systematic, ongoing and egregious violations of religious freedom," are China, Eritrea, Iran, Myanmar, North Korea, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. All had been so designated in last year's list. Uzbekistan had previously been named a "country of particular concern," but Pompeo upgraded it to the special watch list. The watch list now also includes the Comoros Islands and Russia.
