Christian delegation visits Madrisa and Zikria University in Multan

Multan: (Shahbaz Francis) At the request of Wajid Watto Archbishop Sebastian, Fr Dr Jamshed OP and Fr Raphael OP along with the participants moved towards one of the Madrisa where they met with the students and Imam of the Midrisa. The olive tree was planted in Midrisa as sign of unity among Christian and Muslims.

Then all the speakers and participants moved towards Police Station Delhi Gate. Where Archbishop Sebastian, Fr Jamshed OP and Fr Raphael Mahenga OP met with SHO and other police officers. Archbishop appreciated their services for the protection of Churches and prayer places. He said that their security becomes the source of safety and we feel secure when we are praying and we can pray with freedom. We always thank for the security services provided to us. Olive tree was planted and peace prayer of St Francis of Assisi was recited together.

The Delegation of Interreligious Dialogue & Ecumenism (Catholic Bishops Conference Pakistan) along with Dissension Drictor Rev. Fr. Jamshad Gill O.P, under the leadership went to visit Baha Ul Din Zikria University the department of Islamic studies. Olive tree was donated and planted at this Department of Islamic Studies. Olive tree as a common sacred sign and among Christian and Muslim was planted as the visible sign of the interfaith dialogue. Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw, Fr Dr Jamshed Albert OP, Fr Raphael Mahenga OP along with other social activists and Allamas met the professors of Department of Islamic Studies. They had tea together and shared their views of struggles to bring unity respecting each other differences. Dr Jamil Nataqani along with his professors expressed his feelings of joy by welcoming the Christian dignitaries. Each one present there introduced himself. At the end archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw spoke about the documents signed together by Pope Francis and Sheik Ulla at Abu Dhabi for the peace on the universal level. He presented the translated document in Urdu to Mr Dr Jamil Nataqani the head of the Department of Islamic Studies. Dr Jamil also presented a book to Archbishop. At the end peace prayer of St Francis of Assisi was recited together.
