Pakistani Christian leader Akram Waqar Gill brutally murdered; killers at large
Pakpattan, Punjab: (PCP) Mr. Akram Waqar Gill’s dead body was found in canal which was duly recovered by Police of Farid Police Station on February 21, 2020. It was miles away from his home town Arif Wala was he was conducting family business from years till his murdered of age 55. He travelled to Pakpattan city to visit his nephew on February 20, 2020, where he gone missing and his dead body with multiple wounds of sharp weapon was found in canal.
According to reports, Mr. Naeem Gill his true nephew, his uncle Mr. Akram Waqar Gill came to visit him and he had great sum of money when he went out but never returned back in night. He called on cell phone of Mr. Akram Gill but there was no response then he started looking for him in Christian colony but having no clue informed the area police station.
One dead body was spotted in canal then police informed Naeem Gill who recognized that it was dead body of his uncle Mr. Waqar Gill.
Mr. Akram Gill was President of Minority Wing of Punjab JUI (F) a national political party of Pakistan but he was also chief organizer of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC a political party for years also.
Mr. Gill was well known leader of Christian community and defender of human rights who was duly respected for his struggle by Muslims and Christians.
The news of murder of Mr. Akram Waqar Gill shocked Christian community in Pakistan and also Pakistani Christian diaspora around globe.
The Farid Nagar Police has not arrested killers of Mr. Akram Waqar Gill and not seriously investigating this murder which is serious issue.
Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC have demanded to arrest the killers of Mr. Akram Waqar Gill and urged Inspector General of Punjab Police to intervene in issue and direct Farid Nagar Police Station to pay heed in investigation and arrest killers.
Dr. Bhatti also demanded President of Pakistan, Chief Minister of Punjab and Prime Minister Imran Khan to arrest killers of Akram Gill.
Dr. Nazir Bhatti have expressed grief with family of Mr. Akram Gill and paid homage to Mr. Gill services for Christian community.
