Response of Catholic Archdiocese of Lahore to Coronavirus Crisis

Lahore: A special Eucharistic Mass was held in the Catholic Cathedral, Lahore where the main celebrant was His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francs Shaw. The Eucharistic Mass was offered for all the Coronavirus victims in the world. His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francs Shaw said that it is the time for repentance and to get rid of materialism. He further stated that we must ask pardon from the Lord. A Candle of Hope was also lit during the Eucharistic Mass with this hope and faith so that the Lord may redeem us from this deadly virus.

After the Eucharistic Mass a graceful ceremony was held in order to respond to the Coronavirus crisis in Pakistan. 15,000 facemasks and sanitizers were disturbed among the 8 districts of Archdiocese of Lahore by His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francs Shaw. It is important to mention that couple of weeks ago the archbishop organized a training for a group of women in order to train them in the skill of making of facemask. These facemasks where prepared by these women.

His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francs Shaw handed over the facemasks and sanitizers to the circle heads of the archdiocese so that they can distribute them among the faithful of the archdiocese.  His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francs Shaw while addressing the circle heads and priests of the archdiocese stressed to create awareness among the people regarding Coronavirus and keep praying for healing of people who are the victim of this virus. 

Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM Cap Custos of the Capuchin in Pakistan, Vicar General of the Archdiocese Fr. Francis Gulzar, Fr. Samson Dilawar, Fr. Atif Anthony OP, Fr. Victor Sawara OFM, Fr. Mushtaq Payara, Fr. Yaqoob Rehmat and Fr. Tariq George were also present on this occasion.
