Faisalabad: Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) demands the justice for Mehwish Iram and Irfan Tariq Masih, who are the recent victims at their work
Pakistan: On January 28, 2021 a Blasphemy case FIR has been registered against a female Christian Gospel singer and staff nurse Tabita Nazir Gill w/o Sohail Alam at Police Station Ram Bagh Karachi.
Tabita Nazir Gill 36-year-old is a gospel singer and she has recorded a number of religious sons, at the same time she is a staff nurse at Sobrajh Maternity Hospital Karachi where she is a staff on duty for last many years.
Generally, as a Christian staff Tabita was disliked by the Muslim staffers and they wanted her to kick out from the hospital. The sources reported CTS that, there was a little dispute occurred among Tabita Gill and her colleague on Thursday, Jan 28 when she dis-agreed her for collecting money from the patients. Therefore she alleged Tabita Gill for committing blasphemy and blamed her for passing derogatory remarks and objectionable words for the prophets of Islam including the holy prophet Mohammad (PBUH). After this dreadful allegation the Muslim coworkers provoked violence against her, tied her with rope and locked her in a room in the hospital. The videos of hospital staff beating Tabita Gill have been uploaded on the social media and that she was tied up with rope, locked in a room and tortured and forced to admit the crime even she said repeatedly that she was an innocent.
The sources informed that it was all planned to get involved Tabita Gill in to a blasphemy accusations. The local police got informed about the incident by the hospital management and immediately responded, rushed towards the occurrence, and took Tabita Gill in the safe custody. After a formal investigation the police set her freed to go home as she was innocent.
The Christians’ True Spirit – CTS is monitoring the case closely through the local team members. CTS is worried for the emergency situation of Tabita Gill and her family as she is married and has two sons named Shaloom aged 13 and Alisha aged 11. The victim along with her family has moved to an unknown place for safety.
Later, on 29th Jan after Friday prayers a mob of Mullahs and extremists went to the police station and protested against police for sheltering Tabita Gill (a blasphemer). Due to the public pressure a blasphemy case FIR no. 74/21 was registered under (section 295 – C of the Pakistan Penal Code) in the police station Ram Bagh south Karachi.
The case is still under consideration and investigation of the local police.
