London: (By Hannah Chowdhry and Juliet Chowdhry) An American donor approached us to send Bibles to a Pastor in Pakistan who did not know where to buy them. Through his donation, we were able to send 10 Bibles to Pastor Azeem Masih (37 yrs), in Raiwind to give to the congregation that he preaches to.

On the 16th of June the BACA team visited Pastor Azeem at Mission Colony Raiwind. BACA has initially donated a gift of 10 Urdu Bibles for the congregation of The Great Glorious Church of Pakistan, Raiwind.

Pastor Azeem told BACA that he has been serving Christians in Kasur, Pattoki, Raiwind and areas in vicinity of these places. His work is that of a roving minister it is the work of Pastors such as these to sustain the scriptural learning of Christians in areas without churches, and to evangelize.

Azeem ministers to Christians from poor social backgrounds who are attached to different lowly paid work, such as sweeping and bonded labor at brick kilns. They have a desire for the word of the Lord but their financial situations do not allow them to buy a Bible for themselves.

“Nothing is more rewarding than gifting Bibles to people who yearn for God’s word,” said Pastor Azeem while talking about his ministry.

Pastor Azeem has requested a further 100 Urdu Bibles and 50 audio Bibles ‘which would nourish the souls of those Christians who can not read the word of the Lord in English’. One audio Bible will cost us around 2000 Rs (£5.60).

BACA has purchased these Bibles from the Pakistan Bible Society, Anarkali Lahore. Each Standard Urdu Bible costs us 1,350Rs (£4).

Pastor Azeem’s work is dangerous and he could be accused of blasphemy at any time an accusation that would result in imprisonment and potential death.  We call for you to pray for him.

We have written a special inscription into the Bibles, that informs readers that they can contact us, if they are persecuted, it reads as follows:

‘This Bible is provided as a gift by British Asian Christians Association to those Christian brothers and sisters who have a thirst for the Word of the Lord.

‘British Asian Christian Association provides legal and financial aid to persecuted Pakistani Christians.

‘If anyone oppresses or exploits you or anyone of your relatives because of your faith, you can call us at the given number for immediate help.

We hope that this continues to inform Christians of our work and who to contact when things get difficult.

Every year BACA uses your donations to print at least 500 Bibles which we distribute across the country at our outreaches. We thank all the donors who have helped us reach so many Christians who want to know God’s Word and help spread it. We hope that we can continue to spread the Word of God with many more.

Mark 16:15 ‘And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.’

If you want to help us with this essential ministry enabling us to print and share more Bibles and audio Bibles for those who cannot read Urdu.
