Pakistan: This incident took place in Lahore district where a Christian boy, believing to be a Christian, went out of his house for some reason and found some Muslim people who were decorating the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal on the streets and they quarreled with him for no reason.
12 Rabi ul Awal is significant as the traditional date for the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), known as Mawlid un-Nabi or Eid Milad un-Nabi. Muslims celebrate this day with festivities, while others focus on prayer, charity, and reflecting on the Prophet's life and teachings to honor him. The celebration is a recognized national holiday in many Muslim-majority countries.
According to the FIR (First Information Report) complaint, Shafiq Ahmed claimed that he entered the street and tore down the banners,
Banners that have the name of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) or words of joy and celebration of his birth inscribed on them.
The legal team from HARDS (Humanitarian Action for Rights and Development Society) arrived at the scene, met with the victim and his family, while they told the HARDS team that the “victim” had been falsely accused simply because of her Christian faith.
Now, 21-year-old Maan Masih, who was caught up in false accusations, is in police custody and is fighting for justice and protection.
