Christian Woman Brutally Assaulted in Raiwind, Punjab; Calls for Justice and Protection. Report by Sardar Mushtaq Gill

Raiwind, Punjab: Fauzia Bibi, a Christian woman and bonded laborer at a brick kiln in Raiwind, Punjab, has been subjected to a brutal assault by Muhammad Kashif and Muhammad Nasir. The attack took place after Fauzia asked for financial support for her children, resulting in a severe physical beating and her clothes being torn.

This violent incident highlights the ongoing persecution and exploitation faced by vulnerable Christian communities in Pakistan, particularly those trapped in bonded labor.

Fauzia and her family have been living under immense hardship, burdened by heavy loans at the brick kiln owned by Kashif and Nasir. Instead of receiving help, Fauzia was met with cruelty and violence.

Adding to the family’s suffering, Fauzia’s husband, Mushtaq Masih, was falsely implicated in a fabricated case. Though he was acquitted after a month, the family continues to live in fear and hiding, seeking protection from further harm.

Despite Fauzia filing a formal complaint against her attackers, police have yet to take action due to the perpetrators' influential status.

Sardar Mushtaq Gill, founder of LEAD Ministries, said, “Cases like Fauzia’s are unfortunately common. We document and advocate for persecuted Christians in Pakistan to bring these issues to the attention of the international community and demand protection and justice.”

Pastor Imran Amanat of LEAD Ministries condemned the violence, stating, “Fauzia Bibi was subjected to brutal torture, treated worse than animals. It is unacceptable that no legal action has been taken against her attackers.”

This case underscores the urgent need for greater protection and legal recourse for minorities facing exploitation and violence in Pakistan.
