Narowal: In a remarkable display of faith and resilience, a Christian family in Narowal has forgiven the Muslim men who violently attacked their home in October—after the perpetrators expressed remorse and requested reconciliation. The family’s decision came only after the full legal process had been completed with the support of The Edge Foundation, which ensured FIR registration, police action, and court proceedings. 

The incident occurred on the night of 28 October 2025, when armed men forced their way into the home of Adeel Masih—one of only six Christian families living in Village Sidhu. The attackers brutally assaulted Adeel, dragging him through the house, threatening to kill him, and subjecting his sister Nageen to gender-based violence as she attempted to protect him. The rest of the family—Rafique, Gulnaz, Mehak, and a younger son—were threatened into silence. 

Instead of providing help, the local police attempted to frame Adeel in a false motorcycle theft case, refused to register an FIR against the attackers, and ignored clear evidence of assault, injuries, and forced entry. As threats mounted, Adeel went into hiding, and the family feared justice would never be served. 

The turning point came when The Edge Foundation intervened. The team immediately visited the family, documented evidence, arranged medical examinations, and filed a legal petition to compel the police to register the FIR. Through persistent legal pressure, the FIR was finally registered, and the perpetrators were arrested. The Edge Foundation’s lawyers represented the family in court, ensuring that the false theft case against Adeel was dismissed and that the attackers were held accountable. 

“Our legal team stood with the family at every stage, and justice was achieved,” said Azhar S. Malik, Co-Chairman of The Edge Foundation. 

He added, “As the legal process moved forward, village elders, community members, and several influential individuals approached the family, requesting reconciliation. The attackers apologised sincerely and asked for forgiveness. After prayer and reflection, and confident that their dignity and safety had been upheld through the legal process, the family chose to forgive them based on their Christian faith. We fully appreciate and respect their decision.” 

The family’s forgiveness is not a sign of weakness but a powerful testimony of Christian grace—made possible because justice was first pursued. 

The family has expressed deep gratitude for the timely legal support and guidance they received during this traumatic experience, sharing that they no longer feel alone. The Edge Foundation remains committed to ensuring that no Christian family stands unprotected in the face of persecution.
