Pastor Kamran Martyred in Targeted Attack, Raising Fears Across Pakistan’s Christian Community. Report by Sardar Mushtaq Gill

Gujranwala: The Christian community in Pakistan is in mourning after Pastor Kamran was martyred in a targeted shooting by unidentified assailants earlier today. The attack has intensified concerns among minorities who already feel vulnerable during the Christmas season.

Pastor Kamran, known for his ministry work and commitment to interfaith peace, had survived an earlier assassination attempt in September 2025, when he was shot multiple times in Islamabad’s Iqbal Town while riding his motorcycle. That incident had already raised alarms about the increasing threats faced by Christian leaders in the country.

Despite these known dangers, adequate security measures were never provided, a failure that church leaders say reflects a broader neglect of the safety of religious minorities.

Community representatives say the latest tragedy has deepened fear within the Christian community.

“Such incidents, especially so close to Christmas, show how exposed and unprotected christian community remains,” said Sardar Mushtaq Gill, Founder of LEAD Ministries.

Pastor Imran Amanat, leader of LEAD Ministries, also condemned the martyrdom and called for immediate governmental action.

We demand justice for Pastor Kamran’s family and foolproof security for pastors, churches, and Christian leaders across the country,” he stated.

As authorities begin their investigation, Pakistan’s Christian community is urging decisive measures to prevent further attacks and ensure that Pastor Kamran’s sacrifice leads to meaningful protection and justice for all minority communities.
