PASRUR, PUNJAB, PAKISTAN: Christian worker Noman Masih is reportedly seeking justice following an alleged confrontation in Pasrur during which he says he was verbally abused, physically assaulted and humiliated by a group of men.

According to Masih’s account, the confrontation occurred while he was carrying out his work. He reportedly apologized and attempted to stop the situation from escalating, but the alleged abuse and violence continued. He also says he was subjected to anti-Christian verbal abuse, including being called “chura,” a derogatory slur.

The alleged abuse can reportedly be heard in a video recording of the incident circulating on social media. The footage also reportedly shows Masih being beaten and humiliated before being pushed into sewage or gutter water.

Masih has reportedly approached police and is seeking justice and legal action against those responsible. The full circumstances of the incident, including the identities and responsibility of those involved, remain subject to investigation.

Pastor Imran Amanat, head of LEAD Ministries, condemned the reported incident and called for justice for Noman Masih, as well as greater protection for vulnerable Christian communities in Pakistan.

Amanat urged authorities to conduct a fair and transparent investigation and to ensure that anyone found responsible for unlawful violence is held accountable under the law.

The case has renewed concerns among Christian advocates about the safety and dignity of religious minorities in Pakistan. For vulnerable communities, allegations of physical violence, humiliation and religiously abusive language can contribute to fear and insecurity in everyday life.

Human-rights advocates emphasize that every citizen, regardless of religious identity, deserves equal protection, personal dignity and access to justice.
