Narang Mandi: A Christian doctor, Kamran Masih, was reportedly arrested on 9 October 2026 following a blasphemy accusation in Narang Mandi village, Gharial Kalan.

An angry mob allegedly surrounded his home and clinic, broke into his residence, and set both properties ablaze.

Local authorities reportedly intervened to protect his family and move them to a safe location amid escalating tensions.

BACA is meeting with the family tomorrow and stands ready to provide protection and legal support, while calling for prayers and a fair trial.

Mob Violence Leaves Christian Doctor’s Family in Fear

On the evening of 9 October 2026, deeply disturbing reports circulated on social media describing a frightening situation involving a Christian doctor, Kamran Masih, in Narang Mandi village, Gharial Kalan, Pakistan.

According to the reports, Dr Kamran Masih faced a blasphemy accusation that sparked the gathering of an angry mob outside his residence and medical clinic. What followed was a terrifying episode of alleged mob violence, leaving his family in danger and their home and clinic reportedly destroyed by fire.

The incident has once again raised serious concerns about the vulnerability of religious minorities in Pakistan when blasphemy allegations emerge, particularly the risk that accusations can trigger violence before the facts have been established through a fair legal process.

Home and Clinic Reportedly Set Ablaze

According to accounts circulating on social media, the mob surrounded the village and proceeded to Dr Kamran Masih’s home. Reports allege that people broke into the residence, threw stones, and set fires on the road. His house and clinic were reportedly burnt, leaving the family facing the devastating loss of their home, livelihood, and sense of security.

A medical clinic is more than a building. It can represent years of hard work, a source of income, and a place where members of the community seek care and relief. The reported destruction of Dr Kamran’s clinic therefore raises concerns not only for his family but also for those who may have depended on his medical services.

According to social media reports, police officers from Saddar Police Station, Muridke, responded to the unrest and arrested Dr Kamran Masih. The allegation against him must be examined through due legal process, with his right to a fair trial protected.

No accusation should be treated as proof of guilt, and no allegation can justify violence, arson, or the endangerment of innocent people.

Authorities Move to Protect the Family

Amid the frightening developments, local authorities reportedly took control of the situation, helping to prevent further harm. According to the information received, officials protected Dr Kamran’s family, moved them to a safe location, and helped secure their lives and belongings.

This intervention was crucial in a situation where the safety of the family and other residents was at risk. BACA acknowledges the reported efforts of the local administration to contain the unrest and protect those caught up in the crisis.

However, the family’s immediate safety remains a serious concern. Displacement, the destruction of their home, and uncertainty surrounding Dr Kamran’s arrest can leave relatives traumatised and fearful about what will happen next.

BACA Ready to Provide Protection and Legal Assistance

The British Asian Christian Association (BACA) is deeply concerned about Dr Kamran Masih and his family. The organisation has stated that it is ready to provide protection and access to legal experts to help ensure that the family is not left to face this crisis alone.

BACA has made contact with the family through a relative based in the UK and has arranged to meet with them tomorrow.

BACA is calling for the family’s safety to remain a priority and for Dr Kamran’s case to be handled fairly, transparently, and in accordance with the law. He must be afforded due process, and the allegations against him must be examined impartially. The reported destruction of his home and clinic must also be investigated, and anyone responsible for criminal acts should be held accountable through lawful procedures.

Juliet Chowdhry: “No Family Should Have to Live in Fear”

Juliet Chowdhry of BACA expressed the anguish of seeing a family’s safety and livelihood threatened following a serious accusation.

“It is heartbreaking to think of a family watching their home and livelihood go up in flames simply because an accusation has been made. No allegation should ever become a licence for hatred, violence, or the destruction of innocent lives. Dr Kamran Masih deserves a fair trial, his family deserves protection and peace, and the truth must be established through justice—not through the fury of a mob. We pray that this family will find safety, strength, and hope in the midst of such frightening uncertainty.”

BACA believes that the principles of justice and human dignity must be upheld regardless of a person’s faith. Allegations must be investigated by the proper authorities, not decided by crowds. Families must not be subjected to intimidation or collective punishment, and people accused of crimes must have the opportunity to defend themselves in court.

An Urgent Call for Prayer, Justice and Support

For Dr Kamran Masih’s family, life has been turned upside down. Their home, security and source of income have reportedly been destroyed overnight. With an uncertain future ahead, they urgently need more than sympathy — they need practical help to rebuild their shattered lives.

BACA is preparing to meet the family to assess their immediate needs and determine how best to support them through this crisis. Emergency accommodation, essential supplies, legal assistance and help towards rebuilding their lives may all be needed.

We cannot undo the terror this family has experienced, but together we can help ensure they do not face its aftermath alone.

We urge our supporters to keep Dr Kamran and his family in their prayers. Pray for their protection, for courage in the face of adversity, and for justice to prevail.

Please consider making a donation to BACA today. Your generosity can help us provide vital assistance to families facing persecution, violence and displacement, including those affected by this devastating incident.
