Toronto, Canada: May 17, 2009. (PCP report) Canadian Pakistani Christian community staged protest against remarks of Federal Minority Minister Shahbaz Bhatti “Christians are enjoying equal rights in Pakistan” and his failure to help displaced Christi

from Swat valley after military operation to end insurgency of Taliban. The protest of Christian in front of Local hotel where Federal Minister for Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti was meeting with few low profiled Christian leaders from USA and UK who are famous for engagements with Pakistani Missions to break unity of Pakistani Christian Diaspora was show of courage and outrage. The Federal Minority Minister Shahbaz Bhatti had announced this meeting as “Minority Conference” which was being organized to discuss secret agenda of Foreign Affair Ministry of Pakistan to discourage Pakistani Christians settled in Western countries to hold any protest, rally and press conference on persecution of poor Christians in Pakistan. There are thousands of Christians facing hardships to register them in refugee camps for displaced families from Swat Valley, Dir, Malakand and Boiner but Shahbaz Bhatti is visiting Canada in such crucial situation of Christians in Pakistan. Federal Minister for Minorities was also touring abroad when Taliban attacked Taseer Town Christians in Karachi on April 22, 2009. His office in Islamabad issued a statement on accidental death of one ruling PPP leader from Larkana to condole his demise but Minority Ministry not issued any condolence message for 11 year old Christian teen age boy who was executed by Taliban during attack on Churches in Taseer Town Karachi nor Shahbaz Bhatti visited effected Christians. On April 28, 2009, in village Harrapa in jurisdiction of Sahiwal district, five Christians were arrested under blasphemy who were members of APMA of Shahbaz Bhatti but he never supported his members nor visited that village. The resident of village Harrapa were threatened by Muslims after police set free accused blasphemy victims and with fear all Christian families fled to safe their life leaving behind every asset but Shahbaz Bhatti took no notice of fleeing families. Now thousands displaced Christians are waiting for help under open sky in Mardan, Sawabi and Peshawar cities of NWFP but Shahbaz Bhatti is visiting Canada on direction of his PPP leaders to curb peaceful protests of Christians in Western countries. Nawaz Sharif, Imran Khan and other Muslim leaders are visiting refugee camps to seek public support against Taliban but Christian leader Shahbaz Bhatti is away from Pakistan and nor he dared to visiot displaced Christian families when he was in Islamabad last week. The Canadian Pakistani Christians staged protest when they were threatened by some elements of dire consequences if any play card was raised against Shahbaz Bhatti during so-called Minority Conference but outraged Christians stage protests and opened banners for protection of poor Christians in Pakistan
