Rawalpindi: June 25, 2011. (PCP) The Anti-Terrorist Court acquitted Mohammad Nazar arrested in connection with assassination of former Federal Minority Minister Shahbaz Bhatti here today when police produced accused in court after five days physical remand and requested for more eight days remand for questioning. Mohammad Nazar was arrested from Karachi and handed over to Islamabad police on his telephone calls to one of associate of Shahbaz Bhatti that he knows killers of former Federal Minister. Mohammad Nazar converted to Islam and join banned Islamic outfit after some petty personal disputes with Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti. Mohammad Nazar had ten years working relationship with Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti and his All Pakistan Minority Alliance APMA organization. According to AsiaNews, the Catholic Bishop of Rawalpindi-Islamabad had expressed his concerns on arrest of Mohammad Nazar in connection with assassination of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti terming it down-grading high profile murder while Tehreek Taliban Punjab TTP openly accepted responsibility of killing Shahbaz Bhatti on his role to revise blasphemy laws in Pakistan. The Islamabad Police instead of arresting TTP activists from Punjab province of Pakistan which is safe haven of banned outfit Islamic terrorist groups have been investigating personal life of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti which had spread anger among Christian clergy and right activists. Pakistan Christian Congress PCC Chief Nazir S Bhatti had already feared that government of Pakistan will mislead investigation of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti to safe real culprits and demanded formation of Judicial Commission headed by acting justice of Higher Court. Nazir Bhatti said that government must announce formation of an Enquiry Commission headed by acting Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan to investigate assassination of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti because government is covering up facts and culprits involved in killing.
