KHANEWAL. Jan 5. A Christian priest was shot dead here Monday when he was about to board a train to Lahore, the local police chief said. "The unidentified assailants' sprayed a volley of bullets when the priest, Mukhtar Masih was on his way to Rail

District Police Offier Jamil Ahymed told the reporters. Khanewal is an important Southern Punjab district and known famous in cotton crop. According to initial reports of postpartum, the priest was hit by three bullets and expired on the spot. However the initial investigation did not reveal any information about the cause of the killing. However, there are isolated incidents reported since the September 11, 2001 terrorists attack on the United States of America. in a strange move the most worst case of attacking Christians in Pakistan was in October 2001 at Bahawalpur where a 16 people were murdered in a terrorist attack. This incident followed three further attacks last year including an attack on a church in Islamabad's diplomatic area in which two Americans were killed, another attack in a missionary school at Murree-a hilly city of Pakistani Punjab and an attack in a church of a missionary hospital in Taxila.
