Azra khan, 30year old, got married with Ishtiaq Ahmed s/o Bashir Ahmed who was already married two years ago. Mohallah Islampura, Basti patwarian tehsil Ahmedpur Sharqia Bahawalpur. After their marriage, Ishtiaq Ahmed always used to torture her, he used to insist her for abortion, because he did not want to have more children. Azra Khan always refused his will to do so. This became the prime reason of their clash. It was the morning of 29 Dec 2003, Azra khan was in her bedroom, Ishtiaq came in along with a gallon of petrol, and told her that he’s would show some amusing hell play, he spurted the petrol on poor Azra, and lit it with fire and locked her in the room. There was no one there to help her out of her melancholy, even though she was screaming deafeningly. Her face, hands and chest got burnt, she tried to save herself, with a thick blanket but of no use, she became unconscious. Ishtiaq took her to a private clinic of Doctor Fiaz, where Ishtiaq Ahmed with the help of the doctor medicated her with drugged injections so that she could not make any statement to the police. Ishtiaq forcibly took the signature of Azra on a piece of white paper and spread the rumor that she tried to commit suicide. Ishtiaq also threatened to kill her and her brothers, due to which Azra became compelled to do her husband’s cruel legacy. After recovering her health again she was in his house. Where Ishtiaq was planning again to put her alight once again, fortunately she heard the malicious planning, she escaped from Ishtiaq’s house and took refuge at her brother’s house. Today she is still facing the tomorrow challenges.
