Sialkot: April 20,2006. Dr. Emmanuel Adil Ghouri was attacked in office of Government Primary School Sialkot where he is only Christian teacher and school headmaster.
The Government Primary School Sialkot is under administration of Sialkot District Education Board where majority of students are Muslims and government of Punjab employs Dr. Emmanuel Adil.
A group of Muslims equipped with firearms led by Mohammad Khaliq entered in his office and blamed that he is not teaching Islamic education to Muslim students nor Holy Quran is being recited in school assemblies.
Mohammad Khailq ordered other Muslims in his company to kill Dr. Ghouri because he is an obstacle in preaching Islam among students and started beating him but was rescued by some visitor in school.
Dr. Adil Ghouri was appointed in this school before his completion of doctorate and further studies in Italy.
The incident was duly reported to District Police Officer DPO vide letter number 78CC dated April 19, 2006 and OCS service letter number 111311.SKT was served on Station House Officer of Sialkot Cantonment but no First Information Report FIR was registered against influential Muslim attackers.
According to information, Dr. Ghouri started Christian School in same vicinity and was building Mary Town and Christ Town for homeless Christian of Sialkot.
To expand housing project he paid 5 lacks of Rupees for land purchase owned by one Muslim landlord Mohammad Khaliq.
Mohammad Khaliq never handed over possession of land to Mary Town after execution of deeds nor refunded amount but incited Muslims that Dr. Ghouri is working against Islam and preaching Christianity in Pakistan.
After attacking Dr. Emmanuel Ghouri in his School office, the attackers fled away and threatened to kill him outside school.
