Sumera, a Christian teenage girl raped by Muslim employer in Kasur district of Punjab.

Lahore: May 22, 2007. Sumera 15, was raped in fields near Nursery where she worked as laborer with her mother by Mohammad Asif, their employer on May 14, 2007, in broad daylight.

Mohammad Asif added some medicine in tea of Sumera and her mother to make them unconscious and then took teenage girl in fields and raped her. This incident of sexual assault happened in Nazam Pura Chack number 2, Sub-District Chuniyah of District Kasur in Punjab province of Pakistan. Sumera belongs to a homeless Christian family and living with her father Rafiq Masih and other family members in a barn where cattle rests in night. This Haveli or Barn is also owned by Mohammad Afzal, the rapist of teenage Sumera. Mr. Sohail Johnson, Chief of SMLP traveled with his team from Lahore to this remote village to support this Christian family to lodge report in police. Sumera told SMLP team that Mohammad Asif raped her. When Rafiq Masih and his sons found their daughter unconscious along with her mother, they rushed them for medical aid where facts surfaced that Sumera was sexually assaulted. Rafiq Masih moved an application against Mohammad Asif and others but Police registered case after 5 days on 19th May 2007 vide First Information Report No. 250/07 offence under section 370/337-J Pakistan Penal Code with police station City Patto Ki District Kasur. Her medical examination was conducted after about 7 days of occurrence. Police have not arrested the rapists till today.
