Secretary of State Marco Rubio gave the hint that  President Donald Trump  might do U-turn about his initial commitment (given during his speech after arrest of Venezuelan President Maduro by US - Security forces in pursuance to New York Court’s order) to run Venezuela as reported at https://apnews.com/live/us-venezuela-trump-maduro-updates-01-04-2026 . Rubio also said the U.S. would continue to enforce oil quarantine and using that leverage as a means to press policy changes in Venezuela which seems to have materialized as the USA would take 50 million barrels of oil from Venezuela and would sell it as reported at https://www.politico.com/news/2026/01/06/trump-us-will-sell-50-million-barrels-of-venezuelan-oil-00713557 .

But it does no good either to the credibility and reputation of Prez TRump or to the vital interest of the USA (as defined in his “National Security Strategy 2025”) if Prez TRump backs-off from his initial commitment of running Venezuela instead he can easily run Venezuela  (i)- by settling  25 million illegal immigrants from the USA in Venezuela also in pursuance of his main promise (about solving the problem of illegal immigrants in the USA) during his Presidential election compaign (by identifying then tracking and then deporting them to Venezuela) and (ii)- by launching & running new global order and both he can do without much difficulty, as mentioned below:-

(1)- Venezuela has the largest proven oil reserve and huge amounts of important minerals which can certainly be extracted for the benefit of the people of Venezuela and  also of the USA by very large US-Companies with huge production capacity and capital to invest but it will require man power to run these industrial activities. This problem can be solved to a great extent if TRump-administration instead of adopting questionable approach about illegal immigrants (as it has adopted in my State of Minnesota where crackdown by 2,000 IEC agents on illegal immigrants has already killed one women as reported at  https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/livestory/ice-shooting-minneapolis-live-updates-9.7036845 ) try to settle 25 million illegal immigrants (presently in the USA) in Venezuela (in addition to Venezuelans in the USA who willingly want to go back to their country) which will not be difficult because

(i)- There are about 25 million illegal immigrants in the USA as per Marc Rubio as reported at https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2024/jun/11/marco-rubio/there-arent-20-million-to-30-million-immigrants-in/

 

(ii)- Venezuela has large territory and its population is only 32 million (Its population density is 32 per square kilometer against world’s average of 55 per square kilometer) but About 85 percent of Venezuela’s population lives in urban areas in the north of the country, a coastal mountainous region where most of the country’s major cities are located and only  15  % in rest of the country ( https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/11/28/venezuela-explained-in-10-maps-and-charts ). Therefore  these 25 million people from the USA (Illegal immigrants in the USA) can easily be settled in the lower (Southern) part of Venezuela which will raise its population density a bit but still will be less than many countries. 

(iii)- The language of most of these 25 million people (illegal immigrants in the USA) is Spanish and the official language of Venezuela is also Spanish hence these 25 million people will assimilate very easily with the existing people of Venezuela

(iv)- THe USA can help (out of the  money which the USA Would get by the sale of Venezuelan oil 50 million barrels every 2 months and various minerals) in constructing cheap  residential houses for these 25 million people (which can be given on rent to these people which they can easily pay once they get job in the said companies of the USA), public transport from their residential colonies to their work place and other residential & commercial infrastructure for these people [many of the 25 million people(men & women) can also get jobs for  construction & maintenance of these housing, public transport and infrastructure].

(2)- No doubt there will be hue & cry and protests in the world where many countries would criticize the USA / Trump administration for shaping the destiny of an independent / sovereign country, VEnezuela but Prez TRump need not worry about it if -

(i)- He is true to what he said in his “National Security Strategy (NSS) 2025”  ( https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/2025-National-Security-Strategy.pdf ) that - “[Our goals for the Western Hemisphere can be summarized as “Enlist and Expand.” We will enlist established friends in the Hemisphere to control migration, stop drug flows, and strengthen stability and security on land and sea. We will expand by cultivating and strengthening new partners while bolstering our own nation’s appeal as the Hemisphere’s economic and security partner of choice. EXpand -  The United States must be preeminent in the Western Hemisphere as a condition of our security and prosperity—a condition that allows us to assert ourselves confidently where and when we need to in the region. The terms of our alliances, and the terms upon which we provide any kind of aid, must be contingent on winding down adversarial outside influence—from control of military installations, ports, and key infrastructure to the purchase of strategic assets broadly defined. Successfully protecting our Hemisphere also requires closer collaboration between the U.S. Government and the American private sector]”-

(ii)- Prez TRump tries to launch and run  the “new rule based global order of secular democracies led by the USA” [where this new world body will have elaborate mechanism of international court along with mechanism of Human rights Commissions (International, National, State and Districts) in member countries as mentioned at S.No. 6 of https://www.pakistanchristianpost.com/opinion-details/4639   to take care of human rights protection of the citizens of member countries in  individual cases as recently has been raised  by 8 US-  Congresspersons about Umar Khalid matter in India (about prolonged pre-trial detention) as reported at  https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/eight-us-lawmakers-pen-letter-in-support-of-umar-khalid-urge-india-to-grant-bail-fair-trial-as-per-international-law/article70462705.ece  and bigger cases like genocides of innocent Sikhs in 1984 at Delhi or of innocent Musims in 2002 in Gujarat or of innocent Christians in 2008 at Kandhmal etc and especially this international court will listen to said cases like USA v/s Venezuela]  by taking help and assistance from India. For which Prez Trump will have to change his policy. In the NSS 2025 he has mentioned India at three places but always for taking India's cooperation in solving the problems of the USA In Indo-Pacific where as Prez TRump ought to think of cooperating with India, also in addressing the problem which India is facing in its region which the USA can do by helping India in establishing the “Federation of Secular Democratic countries of South and Central Asia led by India” of above 2 billion people of about 20 countries (Including about 12 existing and new Muslim majority countries) as mentioned in my many PCP articles given in https://www.pakistanchristianpost.com/opinion-details/4711 .

Therefore Prez Trump ought not to renege on his initial commitment of running Venezuela instead Prez  TRump ought to show moral courage of running Venezuela which can be done, as mentioned above, without much difficulty.
