London: September 26, 2015. (PCP) MQM Founder and Leader Altaf Hussain has appealed to Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif to intervene for stopping the excesses being committed by Rangers in Karachi. He asked the COAS to limit the Karachi Operation to its declared objectives of eliminating targeted killings and extremism instead of targeting the MQM so that the situation does not go out of control. Mr Hussain said, “I have received information that Rangers have confiscated trucks loaded with hides of sacrificial animals saying that the hides were obtained forcefully. Several KKF volunteers and office-bearers have also been arrested by Rangers.” “They may carry out their repressive acts during the three days of Eid. The Co-ordination Committee should convene a meeting after the three days of Eid and plan a forceful and peaceful protest demonstration against DG Rangers and other Rangers officials who are taking action purely on the basis of prejudice and hatred.” Mr Hussain said that DG Rangers Maj Bilal Akbar was part of the group that was plotting a conspiracy against COAS Gen Raheel Sharif. Mr Hussain appealed people to take part in the protest demonstration to break free from oppression. Mr Hussain sent Eid greetings to the COAS and the entire nation. He prayed for the national security.
