New Delhi: September 21, 2019. (PCP) Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party & former President of World Peace Council of Indian Students who travelled on the world on peace mission on motorcycle from 1967-1973 expressed shock on the behaviour of the world leaders particularly those who have amassed tones of nuclear arsenals causing threat to the world peace on International Day of Peace. Prof.Bhim Singh travelled on peace mission on two-wheels all over the world covering nearly 140 countries in Asia, Europe, Middle-East, Latin America & South-East Asia including China & Japan. He experienced a great thrill from the people of the world even those residing in Africa, USA, the then USSR and China. The people particularly the youth all over the world desire peace and opposed wars and the war-mongers.

The NPP Supremo expressed surprise that no leader of the world nor even the Secretary-General of the United Nations organized the world catching programme nor the International Day of Peace which was established by the United Nations in 1981 and was followed with a particular theme, ‘International Peace, voice against the wars and armament’. Though the theme of this day is announced on the 100 day countdown to peace day by the United Nations Secretary-General but there is no spark anywhere/the world leadership has not been heard to raise loud slogans for international peace nor for complete disarmament the movement which was initiated by Bertrand Russell for disarmament. This is surprising that in 21st century why the world leaders have remained silent on disarmament and for supporting peaceful coexistence which was initiated by India & China at Bandung Conference in 1955 nor the United Nations peace and disarmament mission has been taken up this day by any world leader today. Surprising, that even the Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, who had some interactions with the international society in USA was not heard to speak of International Day of Peace nor even disarmament and freedom from war arsenals and atomic weapons, which have threatened international peace even the existence of the world. Preventing conflicts through climate action is not enough, the conflicts have to be prevented from the platform of the United Nations by the entire United Nations.  

 National Panthers Party organized an affective meeting in New Delhi, the capital of India urging United Nations leadership to organize International Day of Peace with clear message that the United Nations is committed too including complete disarmament and peaceful coexistence. NPP Supremo wondered why the universities, educational and social institutions could not celebrate this International Day of Peace with the message this day was established.

Why the world leaders including US President, Mr. Donald Trump, Russian President, Vladamir Putin and the heads of all other Big Powers failed to convey the message of International Day of Peace.
