New Delhi: Prof. Bhim Singh with his senior leaders of the Panthers Party visited the families in Kachi Chhawani who faced midnight attack by the Police, smashed their houses, shops and terrorized the family members. This is the gift to the people of Jammu of the Lt. Governor rule which is working under the President’s Rule in Jammu & Kashmir whose statehood was demolished on 5th August, 2019 by the Parliament of India. This day the statehood of Jammu & Kashmir was demolished and 200 years old State of Jammu & Kashmir was converted into two Union Territories, Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir.

Prof. Bhim Singh accompanied by Vice President-JKNPP, Mr. P.K. Ganju, General Secretary, Anita Thakur, Partap Singh, senior leader-Young Panthers and former President of National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) and others visited the demolished shops today at Kachi Chhawani road which links with Raj Bhawan, Jammu. The broken shops gave a deserted look as the local shop keepers around informed that the Police invaded the broken shops at last midnight when the families were sleeping. The eye witnesses informed Prof. Bhim Singh who is also a well-known human rights activist that the broken shops were smashed by the Police at about midnight though there is curfew imposed by the LG government at 9.00 pm.

The visitors collected enough information about the midnight swoop and advised the residents to write and immediate memorandum to the President of India, who himself was a distinguished   advocate in the Supreme Court of India.

NPP Supremo after talking to the residents around in Kachi Chhawani and the shop keepers has decided to make a representation to the President of India on behalf of the residents who have lost their houses and suffered a heavy damage as the old shops they were running for over 5 decades have been demolished, household goods and belonging worth lacs of rupees have also been demolished in the last midnight Police raid.

Panthers Party Supremo also urged the Lt. Governor, Shri Girish Chandra Murmu to visit this spot which was attacked by the Police functioning under the President’s Rule in Jammu & Kashmir. He hoped that Lt. Governor may be pleased to visit Kachi Chhawani which is only 10 minutes walk from Raj Bhawan to talk to the people directly in the interest of justice and rule of law.
