NPP demands restoration of security cover to all Panthers Party activists including Chief Patron

New Delhi: Senior leaders of JKNPP have urged Lt. Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha for his intervention to restore security cover to the Panthers Party activists in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. The administration in J&K has deprived almost all Panthers Party senior leaders in the Valley of Kashmir and Jammu province. The Panthers Party senior leadership held an online conference urging Lt. Governor for his urgent intervention to ensure proper security is restored to all Panthers Party leaders including Prof.Bhim Singh, former Legislator, Founder & Chief Patron of J&K National Panthers Party which was founded in 1982.

The senior leaders who made strong appeal included Vice Presidents, Masood Andrabi, Mr. P.K. Ganju, Mohd. Iqbal Chowdhary, Provincial President-Kashmir, Farooq Ahmad Dar, General Secretaries Mohd. Maqbool Malik, Ms. Anita Thakur & Mr. Yashpal Kundal, Ex-MLA and State President Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia, Ex-MLA urged the Lt. Governor that the Panthers Party leadership is suffering from discrimination at the hands of some officials in the administration. The NPP leaders strongly accused administration to withdraw the security vehicle of Prof.Bhim Singh even who has been in ‘Z’ security cover for several years. The NPP leaders urged the Lt. Governor for his intervention to ensure security cover to all the senior leaders of the Panthers Party as is being provided to several individuals in J&K. They accused the administration for withdrawing the security cover of only one recognized Panthers Party leader whereas security cover with transport and security vehicles has been even to ordinary workers of BJP and others in J&K.

Committee also accused the administration that special transportation/jeeps have been provided to all ex-legislators except NPP. Prof.Bhim Singh hoped for urgent intervention of the Lt. Governor who has been an active political leader and a minister in the Union Govt. for several years. He hoped for urgent intervention of the Lt. Governor. He expressed shock that his programme to the militancy prone districts in Jammu province as well as Kashmir has to be dropped as his security cover was dropped.

NPP has also urged Election Commission of India for its urgent intervention to ensure that Panthers Party is not deprived of its constitutional right. He said that there are only three recognized political parties in J&K which include Panthers Party also. The Panthers Party has been made target by the bureaucracy at the instance of some outdated leaders in J&K.
