New Delhi: NPP Supremo Prof.Bhim Singh urged the President of India to intervene without delay to save J&K from disaster and political anarchy caused by dissolution of State Govt. and statehood of J&K. Prof.Bhim Singh also urged that an immediate meeting should be convened with the representatives of all recognized political parties in J&K, NC, PDP & JKNPP besides the national parties which are active in J&K without delay. He strongly appealed to the President of India for his intervention as the present so-called panchayat & district development council elections started from today shall not come out to be helpful for restoration of confidence in the people of J&K and peace shall not be restored by holding so-called panchayat & district development council elections.

Prof.Bhim Singh said that he is not in favour of boycotting these local polls but this is a fact that the majority of the people of state shall not be involved in these half-way elections. He strongly argued in favour of holding Assembly election after urgent delimitation so that people in J&K shall have an opportunity to participate in political affairs. He also appealed to the Members of Parliament from all over the country to consider the situation and their feelings under such a situation they deserve the return of democracy, rule of law with return of statehood. He said that the decision is being dictated by the bureaucrats who have no understanding about the political history and the cultural ethos of the people of Ladakh, Kashmir & Jammu. He said that return of statehood is very necessary lest India looses the merit of the petition India has made against those who have illegally and by force occupied nearly half of the territory of J&K. He also appealed to the regional parties in J&K to develop political relationships with each other and understand the motive of the national leadership vis-à-vis J&K. He said that he shall meet the regional leadership in J&K to open the doors for the dialogue to ensure the return of peace and rule of law.
