Sindh, Pakistan: A water pump has brought clean water, relief and renewed hope to the Christian community of Misri Village, Sindh.

But women, girls, children and elderly residents still face the daily indignity and danger of using open fields.

BACA is now responding to the community’s urgent request for a safe and hygienic washroom.

With £2000, we can help bring privacy, security and dignity to the people of Misri Village.

In May 2026, the Christian community of Misri Village, Sindh, received a much-needed water pump following support from BACA. The simple provision of clean water has made a profound difference to everyday life in the community.

The request for further help has now reached BACA through our volunteer Evangelist Daniyal, who has told us that the community is in urgent need of a washroom to improve sanitation and protect the dignity and safety of local residents.

Before the installation of the pump, women and young girls were responsible for collecting water from a water channel in an orchard. This was difficult, exhausting and left them feeling vulnerable. Having their own water pump means that clean and safe drinking water is now available at their doorstep.

For the community, this has been more than an improvement in convenience. It has brought relief, better hygiene and a sense of security.

Nadeem Masih, a Christian resident of Misri Village, described the difference the water pump has made:

“The members of the community now drink clean water which has improved their health and life. Women use clean water in the homes and the whole community is happy for having a water pump. We are thankful to the BACA.”

But One Urgent Need Remains

Despite the progress made, the community continues to face a serious sanitation crisis.

Women, young girls and children still have to go into open fields when they need to use the toilet. This exposes them to insecurity, lack of privacy and unhygienic conditions. A community washroom would provide a safe and dignified alternative close to their homes.

Nadeem Masih has appealed to BACA for help, explaining that the situation becomes particularly difficult during the monsoon season.

“Monsoon becomes a serious problem when roads are muddy and the fields are too filled with rain water.”

During heavy rain, accessing the fields becomes extremely challenging. Women and children are particularly vulnerable, but elderly members of the community also struggle to find a safe and accessible place to use the toilet.

A Small Building Can Make a Life-Changing Difference

BACA needs £2000 to construct a community washroom for the residents of Misri Village.

This is a modest amount, but its impact will be significant. A washroom will give families access to basic sanitation at their doorstep while providing women and girls with greater privacy and security.
